Deere 5055E

I have a question and i know the majority answer will be to buy a new tractor but i shall ask anyway. Is there a larger engine that can mate up to the 5055e? Curious if the larger 4.5L powertech would bolt up. I know it is a larger engine but mechanicaly would it bolt up to flywheel housing and transmission of the original 5055e. Also are there older engines that would bolt up?

You could call Martin Farm service in Mount forest, Ontario Canada. Maybe hide your caller I.D. If anyone knows, they would, being JD Ag tractor experts. JD wouldn't have a clue and won't even entertain conversations like that.

Not trying to take this off topic but have you considered talking to an injector shop? A lot of times they can significantly increase HP and torque. Then you are only out the injection system and probably cooling/radiator mods.

I’m not connected enough in the PNW to be able to recommend anyone there. I would call these guys and see who they would recommend. I assume they will be a good resource.

If I recall, their is a guy on TBN who does injectors. Maybe he will pop up.

The 5055E is one in a series of tractors starting with the 5045E and going up to 5075E (from memory) all with the same engine. The difference is a different turbo and some bells and whistles like different size tires or number of hydraulic outlets. I suggest you start by looking into a different turbo and see if it will do what you are trying to accomplish.
