I was very disappointed with the stock deere 54" snowplow. So I set out to adapt a Meyer's 8ft plow. The plow was old and pretty rough. Challenge accepted.

Pics of the mods please. That's a lot of plow as it stands.

The blade had alot of rot/rust so I removed the mold board and cut it down to 20 inches tall.

Problems already. By shortening the blade, I had to remove the skid shoes. And the trip springs are going to be too long

Time to mock up the new mount. I made two curved "ribs" that are welded to the plow the width of the quik tach. This is the 1st attempt to mount the springs. And test it out.

The springs trip way to easy, and the factory yoke/mount was so light it bend and twisted. Cut some 1/4" plate and make it stronger.

Cut the springs shorter and reposition them. Welded the skid shoes back on also

I bolted a 1/2" rubber mold board on it. Found this helps not tear up the yard, and doesn't catch or grab like the steel edge.

Last thing, I run chains on the front wheels. They would slap or rub on the steering knuckle. So I had 1" spacers made. Milled a shoulder on it to fit the rim and bolt holes drilled.
