Cub Cadet LT2180 Overheating

I've been following some of the discussion on this "run for :30 and quit" issue. I'm having the same problem. I plan do do many of the recommended fixes mentioned but I'm wondering if someone could better describe what a "coil" is. Is it just something to clean or replace? Thanks much. This is my first post and I'm happy to be a part of this fine group!

The best way to describe the 'coil' is, it makes the spark that goes to your spark plugs. Needs replaced if bad.
