I bought this knowing there was a fuel problem and soon found that the PO had messed with and really messed up the mechanical fuel pump. I replaced the mechanical fuel pump with a electric fuel pump and fuel filter and the engine runs fine. The problem is that it only starts after sitting if you pour gas directly into the carb. After that it runs fine. I also did a carb cleaning and replaced the spark plugs. Please help! I am thinking about turning this around for a profit considering I got it for $75 and I want to get this fixed so I can get top profit. The engine is a MV14.

might try pulling air cleaner off carb intake - place hand over carb intake - try to start. if engine catches or tries to run, ck for improper choke butterfly plate function....or choke linkage needs adjusting.

I have a 1415. How much do you want for yours. My transmission is gone on mine and I'm having a hard time finding a used or rebuilt one. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I am actually trying to sell my 1415 at the moment. It has a few problems so I've been asking $250 for it. The problems include: the muffler fell off and needs welded back on, my shift handle broke and also needs welded, and the starter slips and has to be wound up by hand. Other than that it runs and drove before the shift handle broke.
