Buying Advice CT230 / CT235 questions

I hardly use my brakes. If you let off the hydro pedal you almost fly out of the seat from the tranny slowing you down. I use brakes if I am controlling the descent on a downhill situation.

I bought my CT230 because of the smaller frame size. Nicer for tighter spots. I have 17 acres, cultivate and till 7-8 acres (plus veg garden), plow / blow snow, box blade my driveway (aprox. 2000') and move firewood pallets (48x48x34" of maple).

I love it!

On snow and ice I find when the tractor won't turn becasue the front tires are sliding I use the brakes. Left brake to turn left etc.

I'm a little fearful of losing that feature.

But I do like the smaller size of the CT235 over the CT335

I did not have much time but I stopped at the Bobcat CT235 and CT335 for the first time. I like the smaller size of the CT235 but I have never driven a tracotr with teh toe/heel control and brakes on the same side.
I like the CT335 controls which are just like Jdeere.

Any Comments on these?

Price for CT235 $16,900 with FEL
Price for CT335 $19,800 with FEL

I also looking for a backhoe. Delaer had a used BH to fit the CT335.

CT335 with Used 8TB BH, tax & Delvery = $26,818
CT235 with New 7TB BH, tax & Delvery = $26,335

Just unsure of the size of the CT335 -- sitting side by side that CT335 looks BIG.

I have been to JD & Kobuta dealers who are nervous just letting me run the tracotr around the parking lot. The Bobcat dealer told me to stop in when I had more time and I could take them both up to the dirt pile out back and play.
Has anyone heard of this?

How do you guys like the hel/toe and brake on same side.

Does the CT235 have seperate brakes, how do you use it with only one foot?

The only time I use the brakes on my ct235 is just for a parking brake. The with it being hydrostatic it stops very well in low range it will hold itself on a step hillside, in medium range on a hill side it will almost hold itself, it just barely moves. In high range if you are cruising along you can just ease up on the pedal and it will stop. The brakes should last forever on this tractor. When I saw the foward/ reverse pedal arrangement online I did not know if I would like it. I have no problem using the pedal with boots on and I wear a size 13. I use my 235 when I cut firewood and it is plenty big at times to manuver through the woods. It all depends on what you plan on doing with the tractor as to which one you should get. That price on that 335 sounds like a good deal to me.

Yes the price in the 335 is good because he has a used 8TB backhoe.

If the backhoe attchement were new add $4,000 to the price.
Which bring s the Bobcat up to $30,000 very close to a very similar (but lighter weight) John Deere.

JD 3520 = 2900lbs
Bobcat CT 335 = 3668

Thats a lot more weight, and hte bobcat looks built a lot heavier...

Take the bolt out and then you have indpendant brakes. You just need to use the hydro pedal with one foot and brakes with other.

I think john deere uses a lot of aluminum. The ct235 weighs 3000lbs and the 3038 jd weighs 2100lbs. Bobcats are very user friendly.

What do you need brakes anyway if somethings in the way just drive over it thats whats the guard on front and 4wheel is for isnt it?. Only thing I noticed with the 2way pedal on 230 is I wore some paint off filter getting use to it but Canada_CT230 is right in his posts. the price on the 335 is a lot better than 235 how used(abused?) is the backhoe some guys I have come across do some weird crap with their Bh's
