Cruise Control

My solution is radiator hose clamps. They can't hurt anything.

I have this bag on one side with a jug of water in it.

On the other side, a similar bag with pruners, a short rope, and space to put my sweater as the day warms up.

An old photo.

More recently I used this method to attach a barn door handle up high, vertically, to make it safer as I climb into/from the backhoe's seat - where a fall might put me down where the hydraulic pump rides on the pto shaft.

A clearer picture illustrating the bags and handle secured with radiator hose clamps. A cupholder/phone pocket/small radio could also be attached this way. Or a light bar.

California, sounds great for holding ur gear but please find a better solution for your grab handle.... radiator hose clamps aren't trustworthy enough to bet your life on.... I've see em spontaneously fall off of radiator hoses
Get some u bolts... they are available in all shapes and sizes at your local hardware store....

I use the tool box in front of the shifter on our YM2000 for a cup holder, well, coke bottle holder. I keep a few rags in it for padding for my phone. I use bluetooth earbuds so I don't miss a call.

Any bigger mug I'd have to put on the ROP's....... Rarely any Alcohol for me though.

Smokeonthe water, thinking about that, I went back and edited my post above. The pto pump is coupled directly onto the pto shaft so its not as dangerous as a driveline attached there. Falling down into the hoses would be awkward but not deadly like landing on a turning shaft.

This backhoe (was OEM for both Kubota and Yanmar) is definitely Old School (1979). It has nothing to avoid a fall forward across the control handles like the loop above the controls on modern equipment. I bolted on what was originally a stake pocket, beyond the controls to have a grip to help climb on. This grip is barely visible in the photo with the stump.

Knowing my luck, it would bounce right off and in my lap. ;) When brush mowing, I have these 8 inch deep rut holes from stump ground trees every 4 feet. About 3,000 of these pockets after the logging. Got it down to around 80 now in the back corner. Just mowed that section last night. It's jaw popping, even in a low gear. Got use to hitting them a certain way to keep the steering happy.

This is somewhat what I'm thinking. Just the attachment is all wrong.

Our machines are PowerShift or the basic gear selector. Nothing hydrostatic about them. :)
Then cruise control is not an option or necessary for you.

OK, this guy has the same mindset I do. We want a 4-hour long mug holder while working out in the field. None of those tiny sippy bottles either.

I like what he did out of PVC. This is a mug holder for sure! :)
