Yanmar YM2610, retired JD 850, retired DYT-4000
There is another thread on TBN talking about how many people opted for cruise control on their new tractors.
For the newbies The best creature comfort add-ons to your tractor To consider when buying

I sat back thinking, would I ever need this on my Yanmar? Then it dawned on me ... Duh, our YM machines have a mechanical lever to use as a cruise control. :sneaky:

The more info I find on the latest newer machines, the more I'm at home with the YM series.

What would be nice to have is a good power steering unit, a hydraulic top-link, and a nice sized mug holder off of the ROPS.

Anyone else have a wish list or dream list for their YM machine? Yes, some of you are making that dream a reality.

Doesn't tractor "cruise control" hold the hydrostatic pedal in a selected position, not the throttle?

Our machines are PowerShift or the basic gear selector. Nothing hydrostatic about them. :)

Fulfilled one of my wishes just now, a new seat and my boney old butt is happier. I hear you on the simplicity of YM and power steering is a nice feature that was installed on mine. Definitely have to figure out a phone and cup holders.

You can make a bracket attached to the rops
with a cup holder should be a simple job!

That's the big question. What bracket would work? Found an almost match at Menards in the hardware section. Just the U bolts were stainless and not black. Can't drill holes in a ROPS as it's a Federal regulation for safety. So, brackets and U-bolts are the way to go.

Meh... the feds don't give a rip what you do to your own rops for your own use...

That said, there are other options too such as glue, magnets, velcro, or even the ever magic ZIPTIE

They don't care once we get the machine really. BUT - - - Should anything happen to a new owner of the machine after your mods to the ROPS, you are fully liable. That's how the FEDs treat it.

My plan is a bracket method of some sorts. Just need a LARGE mug cup holder and not what is typically found in the baby section of Wally world.

Nah they still don't care...

The only realistic downside to modding your own is that the manufacturer would no longer be liable if it failed and osha would fine you if you were an employer...

Civil court is a whole other subject but the feds won't be there lol

All that aside, another idea for you and ur big mug would be some 1.5x 1/8 flat bar (or whatever size)... shape it to fit around ur rops and ur mug w a bolt between to connect the ends and to tighten it on the rops...
