Has anybody ever tried one of these? There website looks interesting with the "joystick" instead of the tradional arms. I also liked the flipup deck, and pivoting front axle. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have never seen one before, just curious if others have.

Local Deere dealer is bringing me a 757 zero turn this week to try out. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a Country Clipper JaZee model I bought year before last.

I really like it. The joystick control is easy to use and quite natural. I've found the cut quality to be very good for my purposes. My "lawn" is nothing more than a 3 acre ex-pasture that I've just mowed for 5 years now.

As an ex-pasture, it's quite rough in areas and the JaZee takes it in stride at top speed in most places. There's just two areas where I've learned I need to slow down or suffer quite a jolt.

The flip-up deck is great. Cleaning the deck on my old lawn tractor was a real pain. I either had to put it up on ramps and crawl under or remove the deck. Now, I just un-hook the deck hangars and the drive belt and lift up the front of the mower and the deck drops down to a vertical position for easy access for cleaning and blade sharpening. Frankly, though the JaZee's power and deck design doesn't clog up nearly as bad as my old riding mower so I don't have to clean it nearly as often.

To me, the JaZee seems to be a bit better (quality and $) than the "homeowner-grade" ZTRs but a bit less than "commercial-grade" - which is fine for my 3.5 Acres once-a-week cutting duty.

Going from my 48" garden tractor/riding mower to the 50" JaZee ZTR cut my total mowing time from 3.5 hrs down to 2 hrs.

I'm happy, and the darn thing is FUN to drive!

I appreciate your info WVBill. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here it is Friday evening and still no JD mower. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I guess maybe they could bring it tomorrow, but I'm not going to hold my breath. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I did get to ride around a little on a Country Clipper Charger series mower with the 60" deck, and joystick steering. I was pretty impressed with that steering system. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I am interested in the Boss series, but am wondering if the Charger series might be worth looking at, considering it is over $1,000 cheaper.

He is the one that told me about them and sells them. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Unfortunately he does not have any to look at. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I also left a message on his cell phone Wed or Thur to give me a price on the Country Clipper Charger and Boss models with 60" decks. Never heard anything. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Reddog,
When I was shopping I drove County Clippers at a dealership. He sold Hustlers and Country Clippers.
I liked the Country Clipper and the joy stick on them.
I wound up buying a Hustler because he went so low on the price I couldn't pass it up.
He wouldn't budge on the Country Clippers. If he had offered one even close to the price of the Hustler I think I would have bought a Country Clipper.
The only thing I can offer as advice is get the biggest deck you can use on your land. I am running a 52" deck and wish I was using a 72' when I am out mowing with it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well then, maybe Jeff's new shop has got him consumed for time?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I'm looking for a ZTR myself right now but I doubt I can afford a Country Clipper.
