I am truly liking the sounds of the catfish and oyster festivals. Alligator would be right p there too so long as I didn't have to land it! Gumbo is making me salivate as I write.

jinman - I have cut way back to zero on the fried food - but it is tempting. I took my little guy to lunch today and managed to sneak a few fries from him when he wasn't looking!

Lloyd, the State Fair of Texas is known for having more fried foods on a stick than you can shake a stick at. (Does that make sense?) I cannot go there without having one or two corndogs with a big ol' dollup of mustard on them, but I have never been tempted to have the battered and deep fried Twinkies. Sheesh!

Dudley, if there is anything I like better than a bowl of gumbo, it's two bowls of gumbo. I don't know if I could live through a gumbo festival.

That could make a great reality TV show.... living off of gumbo only for 30 days...

Rockin, My wife has been to the Calgary Stampede...St. Antonio stock show sounds interesting - especially if it is warmer than Feb temps up here.

Anything associated with fishing villages spells seafood to me, so I really like lookin at those shots !

Those oxen are awsome also, amazing what those animals are capable of pulling !

Lloyd, Calgary is on my list of places to go, I've heard how great a rodeo it is. San Antonio is a great show and Feb. is usually in the 60's and 70's.
