I wouldn't say bison have been 'reintroduced' to Kentucky. They're in enclosures. They aren't allowed to roam, unlike the elk, which even have a hunting season.

When I was a kid there was a buffalo (bison) farm about 3 miles west of here in South Bend, IN, and another one about 15 miles to the north of us in Michigan. They raised them for meat. There's still a bison farm about 50 miles to our southwest. I'm sure there are probably bison in just about every state. But they don't run free anywhere east of the Mississippi river as far as I know.

"Reintroduced" implies an effort to establish a natural population, as was done very successfully with turkeys and with elk. There are no wild buffalo or bison in Kentucky. There are technically giraffes and kangaroos in Kentucky as well.
I stand corrected, thanks.

The wife and I took a hike last Saturday along an old canal/spillway area about 30 miles SW of us. We walked the east half of it a few weeks ago. So we walked the west half this time. There's a series of dams and spillways that they used to power several mills and hydroelectric stations. The mills are long gone. The hydro buildings are still standing. This one was last used in the 70's, I believe. The electric company donated it and the spillway land to that county park system. Kind of an interesting area. Very easy walking, as it's all flat along the spillways.

And the girls are not impressed! 🤣

There's some people near us that feed turkeys. There can be 50-60 of them at a time. The guys are out there strutting their stuff.... and the gals just don't give a cluck. They're busy eating. I can honestly say that I've never seen the Toms eating, only strutting around while the gals eat. I wonder how the Toms get that big! 🤣🤣

Yep. The toms will do nothing but court until all their hens are brooding.

Red-poles are passing through here this year and eating us out of house-n-home. This nyjer feeder is being refilled 1.5 times a day. Sunflower feeder is being drained as well. The trees are filled with 1000's them waiting to get in.
