converting 3pt splitter to pull behind

/ converting 3pt splitter to pull behind #21
not sure now if I want to still just add a motor and pump and work it as is, or swap the plate and splitter positions, or just buy a new one that will do what I need. any thoughts on this?

If it were mine I would swap them. Note that on my splitter mod I had to reinforce the end of the I-beam with 1/2” plate to strengthen it and allow for a section of 4” -1/4” wall tube steel to be welded to it to lengthen the frame to support the out-feed table. Yours is already done if just cut the bottom foot off above the beam (and reweld it). Then you could cut the wedge off and weld the removed section of foot to it. Then get a 10 or 12” splitter wedge (Northern Tool has them) and weld it on the beam. That 3 point frame off that splitter could have a great future as a carry all or ballast box. All kinds of fun!

Here’s a couple pics of how you can load up a log lifter when it’s built with this in mind.
