Convert Continental Post Hole Auger to a logging winch

Just as the title says. Is it possible. I have a continental post hole auger sitting around collecting dirt. Would it be possible to convert to a skidding (logging) winch

With some minor fab work, I was thinking of replacing the auger bit with a pto shaft and putting a pto winch half way down where the auger would go. Opinions or other suggestions

You will probably want your winch to be reversible, too.

I suspect you would also have to add some form of clutch and brake system and also free wheel option to the auger drive to make it a winch. Is this PTO powered auger or hydraulic? If hydraulic the reverse should be there already.
