so im confused about whether a bx 1500 has a catogory 0 hitch or a cat 1 hitch, what are the differences between them? im looking into buying a rear blade for the tractor for snow removal so i want a blade that fits right and will raise high enough, so any suggestions?

You are not the first! So don't feel alone with your frustration, I call it an O-1 hitch as it has the pins of a cat 1 and the size of an O.

Manufacturers have been doing this for years as we have equipment that is cat 1 - 2 as well as cat 2-3 and cat 3-4 so they can fit the equipment to more sizes of tractors.

Most sub-compact implements say so on them today so they are often easy to spot with the smalller hitch assembly then the full cat-1.

The Cat 1 hitches often hinder the lift ability of the implement on these units.

You can buy a Tisco short toplink and get the lift you need.

I wound up mounting the Cat 1 pins facing inside on one of my blades. It works fine.

if just turn the pins facing to the inside, a standard cat 1 blade will work? i've been thinking about buying the regular yellow blade at tsc. since it will just be for snow (4"-8" at most at a time here in WV) the bx 1500 will lift it 8"-10"? then shorten the toplink for transport? maybe get it up to 12''-14"? not many cat 0-1 implements are avalible in my area unless you wanna pay $$$$$ this would be much more simpler if i hadn't traded in my wheel horse c-160 plow tractor haha :confused2: but thats a whole nother story

If you are looking at a standard back blade, as opposed to a box blade, you can certainly buy a Cat 1- 4 or 5 footer and mount the pins to the inside.

I don't have the part # of the Tisco toplink but it has been listed in other threads. You might want to do a search.
The short toplink should give you plenty of lift, as the act of lifting also tilts the blade up.

That toplink seems to be almost the same size as the one thats on it from the factory
