so im confused about whether a bx 1500 has a catogory 0 hitch or a cat 1 hitch, what are the differences between them? im looking into buying a rear blade for the tractor for snow removal so i want a blade that fits right and will raise high enough, so any suggestions?

You are not the first! So don't feel alone with your frustration, I call it an O-1 hitch as it has the pins of a cat 1 and the size of an O.

Manufacturers have been doing this for years as we have equipment that is cat 1 - 2 as well as cat 2-3 and cat 3-4 so they can fit the equipment to more sizes of tractors.

Most sub-compact implements say so on them today so they are often easy to spot with the smalller hitch assembly then the full cat-1.

The Cat 1 hitches often hinder the lift ability of the implement on these units.

You can buy a Tisco short toplink and get the lift you need.

I wound up mounting the Cat 1 pins facing inside on one of my blades. It works fine.

if just turn the pins facing to the inside, a standard cat 1 blade will work? i've been thinking about buying the regular yellow blade at tsc. since it will just be for snow (4"-8" at most at a time here in WV) the bx 1500 will lift it 8"-10"? then shorten the toplink for transport? maybe get it up to 12''-14"? not many cat 0-1 implements are avalible in my area unless you wanna pay $$$$$ this would be much more simpler if i hadn't traded in my wheel horse c-160 plow tractor haha :confused2: but thats a whole nother story

If you are looking at a standard back blade, as opposed to a box blade, you can certainly buy a Cat 1- 4 or 5 footer and mount the pins to the inside.

I don't have the part # of the Tisco toplink but it has been listed in other threads. You might want to do a search.
The short toplink should give you plenty of lift, as the act of lifting also tilts the blade up.

Here's a pic of the short toplink:
