Compact telehandler

I thought it might be, but I just checked a Canadian bobcat dealers web page and it listed the v519. So I guess not.

Yeah, as far as I can tell the TL models are just for the Euro market, which is a shame.

Haven't posted here in a while, haven't done anything new, so here is one from last year.

Removed an old long dead, small oak double trunk stump, with the Gorilla Grapple:

Just one piece left.

Pushed it with the center tine.

Got it. :D

It would have been quicker to have used the stump bucket, but grapple was already on.

Anyone found agri spec machines in the US, even if from other manufacturers?

I see JCB has a few, but I am not noticing PTO or high flow on them.

I don't think you're going to find one with a PTO. Manitou and Gehl make ag machines with pretty high flow rates, but you need to make sure it's high flow at the auxiliaries if you want to run a high-flow attachment. Mostly they seem to be located in the Midwest region.

Looks like the JCB 525-60 agri plus has a max flow of 23.75 (a bit higher than then V519). In addition, they have a limited slip diff option.

Merlo has a Tele handler with pto avail in the US, but its a beast - 145hp if I recall correctly.

Bobcat has ag machines in EU too, just for some reason don't sell them in the US. High flow of 50 gallons per minute (electronically limited so reachable at lower-than-max revs), with a max of 40 gallons per minute to the aux. Also with limited slip diffs, about 140hp.

Haven't used the V417 for awhile and had a strange thing happen when I did try to use it. The door would not open.

I have never locked it and don't even have a key for it. Here is a close up of the door:

I reached in over the door and removed the nut from latch stud. Then removed the two hinge bolts visible above, then removed the door and the cover over the latch mechanism:

The problem is a Dirt Dauber nest preventing the lever from moving:

Put it all back together and it works good again.

I've heard stories about them getting into all kinds of places. That's a new one. :)

Back when I worked On DC9 and B727 freighters, our cargo ramp was next to a large drainage ditch. One summer evening, while watching our DC9 takeoff, it aborted and taxied back to the cargo ramp. The Captain opened his cockpit window and hollowed............"No airspeed indication".

I immediately grabbed a ladder and looked into the opening of the pitot mast to find it covered up by a mud dauber. I could poke the dirt loose, but didn't have anything to clean the dirt out with that was handy. Lets just say I had a lot of dirt to spit out of my mouth that night, so we wouldn't take a delay!

That is truly "taking one for the team", Brandi. :)

Back then, I was all for taking one for the team, as I got to go home 30 minutes after liftoff.
I only had one cargo flight (B727) cancelled in two years there, and that was because of wrong information, over the truck phone, from a maintenance controller! I finally found the problem valve AFTER the crew was headed for the hotel.

Now, back to telehandler updates..................

Brandi, no update now, but thanks for the interesting posts. I can imagine what it was like sucking the remaining dirt from the pitot tube.

I was recently asked about the receiver hitch since it isn't from Bobcat. This is the stock pin hitch:

P9290019.JPG

I moved it up to the plastic plugged holes visible above the logo in the picture above. Cut down a flat backed receiver hitch, drilled the holes, bought two longer metric bolts and bolted it on:

I still use the top pin hitch to pull with, no danger of flipping over like pulling high on a tractor.

Today's project.

Two dead trees, one smaller:

One bigger:

Clamped on the first one with the tree puller:

Raised the boom, it broke off:

Clamped on the second one and pulled it:

Took it to the brush pile:
