Combines: Mid 80's Deere vs IH

If you had to choose which one and why? Looking at either a Deere 6620 or a Case 16XX? We don't have a lot of acres but looking for an improvement from the old Massey. What are some things we should look for when checking these old beasts out? Really looking for the one that is the easiest to work on and the best parts availability.

1640 or 1660 would be the best.when you turn the rotor on it should run smooth. if it has a lot of vibration it needs work.

I'd go with the IH rotary too . A 6620 is still side cab and a step sideways from the MF maintenance wise.

After many IH's points that come to mind .

Straw chopper bearings
Shaker/ seive bushings and side rails
unload auger gearbox
check rear axle for cracks around the pivot point
