Cold starting trick

This isn't a cold start trick, but how about white smoke? I had a job driving for a fleet with a bunch of old International trucks and on cold days we would smoke out the industrial park if we all started at once.

Last year when it was -15F, I tried the blow drier method. Left it in the inlet tube for 15 minutes and it didn't work. I borrowed a "torpedo" heater and aimed it under the oil pan with a tarp over the engine to trap the warm air. In an hour it turned over and started.
