Chosing a borescope

I have a Gradient Lens bore scope and it wasn't cheap either. Owned it for at least 10 years now. It's a 'Hawkeye' and 10 years ago I believe I paid 700 bucks for it.

Farm Craft had one from Vevor that he used, seemed like a good rig actually;

If it's as good as the Vevor saw chain grinder I bought for under 100 bucks on Amazon (shipping included) it has to be a winner. The Vevor saw chain grinder is an exact copy of the Oregon (Tecomec) grinder that lists for over 200 bucks on Amazon and it has a much better depth stop as well. I'm about to order a Vevor mag base drill as well. Not paying over a grand for a Hougen.

Maybe 5y ago I bought a USB otoscope. Less than $20. 6 LEDs for lighting, but fixed focal length of about 3/4". So if what you are looking at is closer or farther than 3/4", it is out of focus.

The built-in Windows "camera" app makes it so it is accessed just like any camera. No special app to get. Using a computer gives you a huge display, plus the ability to record images. But not very good as an otoscope.

I mention this cuz these cheap endoscopes have gotten lots better. USB or USB-C plugs now available. Adjustable lighting. Wireless transmission. Wider viewing angle. Still under $20 in the US. I may get another to try it out.

Vevor seems to be one of his big sponsors now. So I'm a hair suspicious of the recomendations. Not suspicious enough to avoid getting the furnace he recommended for melting down some aluminum. So far the recomendation/ad for the furnace seems to be right on at good value. Not as beefy as the forge I made, but far better value even if you value my time at nothing.

At least he's honest about being sponsored & the conflict of interest unlike a lot of other YouTubers.
