IF I'm understanding you correctly, and if it matches mine, there is usually two ways the high pressure can enter (also exits) the valve. So you saying "shares an open port where my finger is that has a plug in it" makes sense.

Normally a power beyond plug is INTERNAL, below is NOT your valve but shows the nut (HIGH PRESSURE CARRY OVER PLUG) for power beyond.

Hydraulics is totally confusing at first.... then it gets worst :D :D

Now that makes since, thanks a lot!! so now I either find the adapter plug that allows PB from existing FEL or buy a new loader valve. I really appreciate you explaining that the way you did.

could I possibly just T off the pump one to loader valve and one to the cylinder on the brush grapple? I am just looking for a cheap way to get going. I highly doubt will be able to find a Pb adapter for my FEL valve.

No you cannot Tee a pressure line in a open center system.

If you want a cheap way without dealing with PB, search here for diverter.

Its basically a electric solenoid that you activate with a button that you attach to your loader valves joystick.

It uses a function of your existing loader valve. Lets say the curl.

Rather than your two curl lines running from loader valve to curl cylinders......

You run them to this diverter valve instead. And the diverter valve has 4 outlets. Two of them re-attach to your curl cylinders. The two extras run to the grapple.

So in the normal state, without pushing the button and energizing the diverter, the loader functions normally. You curl....and the oil just passes through the diverter valve and on to the curl cylinders and operate normally.

But push the button and energize the diverter, then move the loader joystick as if you were curling, and the oil is diverted out the other two ports that you hooked your grapple to.

So your hand never has to leave the loader joystick. Up and down = raise and lower. Left and right = Curl and dump. And left and right WHILE HOLDING THE BUTTON = grapple open and close.

There is a post about installing my diverter in my signature.

You could do a diverter valve. That would let you switch your curl line you the grapple and back.

LD1 has a thread about adding one.

just an update. I have ordered another FEL valve from surplus center WITH PB! 9-10999 it should get me fixed up. thanks to all for helping out with this.

Nee valve with power beyond will work, just put it first in line, and feed the loader off the new valve PB.

Don't forget you still need a tank return from new valve as well as the PB.

What didn't you like about an easier diverter setup

On my Mahindra backhoe, there are only two fittings, one for the PB from the loader, the other the pass-through and cylinder discharge. That latter goes to the 3-point! As you'd not normally use both the BH and the 3-point (which is frame mounted), this is permissible.

Which is why your owners manual probably gives you explicit instructions to not raise the 3ph lever when the how is connected

Nothing against the diverter valve option. but just starting to understand what I have going on and I just want to keep everything close to where its located right now. I have been gathering up stuff here and there and have most everything I will need as far as fittings and lines. I would hate to start this confusion over again, lol!!

Just thought I would send a few pictures of my brush grapple.
