I thought I posted this once but don't see it. What is the correct procedure for checking the oil level in the hydraulic system. If you screw in the oil fill dipstick you get one level and if you just rest the cap on top without screwing it in, the difference can be half way between the low level and full level.

I check mine with the dip stick screwed in. As long as fluid is in between the low and high marks you are OK. I would expect that in units with larger capacities a little under or over the fill line is acceptable.
