Snow Attachments changing moldboards

Hi folks...gravelman here in NH I have an older style Fisher snowplow...9 foot wide... i would like to get a 8 footer, i was thinking..(dangerous) would an 8 foot moldboard fit the push frame of the 9 footer??? Im thinking the measurements must be the same ?? just repin it??? anyone ever go anything like that???
