Anyone know why a craftsman chainsaw will not oil the bar? What pumps the oil out to the bar?

Thanks Petert

oil pump I believe.

Basic, but have you taken the bar off and cleaned out the oil holes?

On the back of the saw, there is a lever about one and a half to two inches long. Every time you press this down, some oil will come out to the blade on the lower side.

Thanks guys. I took it apart today, took the clutch off and a small side cover and what looks to be the oil pump off. no oil would come out of the tank to feed the oil pump so I shot a blast of air in there and it opened the flood gates. Cleaned it all up and put back together and it seems to be working fine for now. I may have to do it all over again as I blew air back into the tank and proably whatever was pluging it up back into the tank.

Thanks again
Petert
