Chain Guards

Hmm, I thought I looked at everything Home Depot and Lowe's had and didn't find anything I wanted to use, but think I did see the stuff you guys are talking about and guess it might work.

Tony

Some close ups attached. You can see where the silly *()^&&*%$(^% left wide gaps which they then had to infill. I decided to leave the front alone.

Cheers

Hi John,

Instead of reinventing the wheel... you may what to consider ordering from Howse parts dept. for your KingKutter unit... the chains don't care who's cutter they get a free ride on.../w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

(get at least the front chains to protect you and the cost is very reasonable... vs. spending your time and only saving $30-40...)

Really? My chain guards came with brackets that were custom shaped for my particular cutter, with pre-drilled holes to line up with those on the cutter itself.

Or am I missing the point?

Couldn't you just use some small (3/8inch?) straight rod and thread it through the links? Then you'd just have to slide that through a few pieces of angle iron you drilled a hole big enough to accept the rod. The angle iron would bolt to the deck. (Could also use all thread rod and just fasten the end with a bolt)
