Hey all,
I am a do-it-myself (tight!) guy... I have done more then enough web searches and came up really short of any really good plans/blueprints for Cat. 1 3pt implements... I have seen alot of pictures of works in progress and finished projects, but not many diagrams with cutlist and such... I done University searches and most every worded search a person could do... Any 3pt projects would be cool as long as it cat. 1... Blades, lifts, scratchers, diggers, you name it.. just love looking at others ideas and ingenuity!! I appreciate your patience and help with this....
I will post my email for anyone having anything... mhein68 at live.com

Most of my stuff is built as you go along using what you have out behind the barn. Then at lunch someone hears what you are doing and they give you some pieces I could draw something up in CAD at work -but thats rarely the way it comes together at home. Then when it works and you paint it-it looks like you wanted it that way.

I've been working on a library. So far I have a LPGS with adjustable depth blades and quick hitch compatible, a SSQA plate (per spec), and my bucket-mounted garbage bucket carrier. None are ready for prime time, but I can probably share eventually.

I conceptualize in solidworks. flushes out lots of issues. I even used it to make sure I could install an auto lift AND lift to full height in my garage before I built (I didn't want super tall side walls, so I have a section with an internal 3/12 pitch for the lift.

Don't know if this is of any use to you, but you shouldn't have to push the delete key very hard to get rid of it.

I believe SAE has some standards for the different categories of 3PH. Trouble is you have to purchase these or have access to their standards library.

I think the reason on the few plans available is that projects grow and many ore from repurposed materials, and besides a few key measurements, and a sketch there are few plans so to say,

for example when I made my back hoe, I made full size cardboard templates and the cylinders or made template cylinders, before ordering the real units and then used them to see if binding would occur or the placement of the mounts and so on, my under fence mower, the project changed from the start to the first used, and is still in need of a few small changes, and tests, and if I was to redesigned and rebuild I would change a number of things, (not nessarly changes on could see in a picture, but small changes).

my BIL build a post pounder, they had one up at a farm store, he took pictures and a tape measure, and wrote down measurements, and each time he got stuck he went and took more pictures and measurements, thus he copied a proven design, the key things I have on the shop wall are the three point dimensions, and then usually many hours of internet picture searches, and paten searches for Ideas, and usually when said and done my projects are a blend of many all ready proven and tested
ideas, but besides a sketch and few key measurements, many times I do not even know what I will use for materials, many are out of the scrap or what is on the rack, some times I go and buy, but as far as cut sheet, that is usaly figured out as I go, HUm I need a tube to go between the lift arm brackets, it need to be XX.X" so I find the tube and put on the saw and cut to XX.X" then I need a piece to do this it needs to be YX.V" so that is what that is cut to, and welded in to place and the next is .... and some times it is cut back off and tried again,

its all about tinkering around and having fun :) get in and go at it! i know i have had more failures than good things. messing around. trial and error. it is what i enjoy. :)

*rubs chin* most hobbies out there have some sort of "club" from fishing, to robots, to flying scale model airplanes / helicopters, to other. but to be honest not sure if there is a club for 3pt stuff? i know there organizations and such for farming... but 3pt hitch cat 1 stuff ? *looks lost* i guess TBN and many threads of DIY stuff that comes along on the forums!

that actually might be pretty cool. some competition of building a basic 3pt hitch attachment. nothing fancy.

looking for standards a couple days ago for 3pt hitch, and it would seem SAE standards are pointing to ISO standards for the latest revision. i think iso.org wanted something like 88 bucks for a copy.

a lot of talk on... lower lift arms and top link. and how much they can swing/angle, how far they need to stick out behind tractor / tires, etc...

i don't remember site, but it cost over a hundred bucks but provided copies of previous revisions. and some noting that older tractors built on older revisions, may have some issue with some attachments built to different specs.
