I have rebuilt the brakes on the left side of my 480D Case backhoe. I am in the process of rebuilding the right side. My parts book only shows one seal to prevent contamination of the brake discs. There was oil contamination just like the left side so the seal is being replaced. My question is---How does the deff. lock get it lubrication or is it designed to run dry?--(doughtful) !

Giles, I am not 100% sure so I won't say anything but forward your question to here:Tractor/Loader/Backhoes - Heavy Equipment Forums and you'll get an answer. There are 2-3 Case Reps on here, I think all 3 are mechanics for over 20 years with Case and they'll get you an answer.
