Carrying Firewood with Compact Tractor

No, because Its not really pasture and the area I cut in has some gateways and sharp turns. I tried it once with my skid loader and I almost broke a huge section of fence. Good thought though

Alauer I used wood pallets for easy replacement, they were free, and they're light.

Pallets weighed so much I was forced to buy a new tractor! Oh the horror!

JLww...Is that hog panel that you just bent to fit around the pallet? And then some Galvanized 2x2" angle? Pretty slick - I like it. Any issue drying that way with the 4' depth?

Look for 3pt pallet forks - tractor supply has them (not the carry all) - then build a box or several like the ones in the above posts. The reason I prefer the pallet forks over a carry all type set up is I can drop the pallet and go to the next one. I have forks for my loader as well which lets me carry about a full cord at one time - the boxes I built are 4x4x5 out of 2 inch angle with 4x4's under and 3/4 plywood sides. You can build a carryall plat form as well to carry all your stuff into the woods if you're cutting. This has been the most useful set up for me and my situation - i PUT EVERYTHING ON PALLETS !

Dave, yes it started as the 16' cattle fence from tractor supply. Put it on the ground and used the tractor bucket to hold it down and pulled up while smacking each wire with a dead blow hammer to bend it 90.
I've been getting seasoned wood delivered since I don't yet have enough trees of my own so no issues drying. I suppose you could leave out the extra pieces stacked in the middle for better air flow

So, I own a Ford 1520 with a 3pt hitch and a loader. I work by myself on firewood and most projects. The firewood I get is a 2 mile drive through my field by tractor. I have a John Deere Gator but, I need the loader on the tractor to lift trees and move them around and I'm not sure the Gator will make it cross the creek that I need to cross to get to the area that I cut. I have been putting the wood in my bucket on the loader and I can only fit like 20 pieces of wood in the bucket. I need something to put on the 3pt but I'm not sure what to do. I can get a scrap box blade or metal to use. I'm a mechanic and welder so I am more than capable of making something. Just need ideas. No, I can't just pull my trailer back there because I don't know that I can make some of the turns that I need to. Thanks for your help guys!
