Hello. Good to be here.Can anyone here talk about using a front mount hydraulic pump off a 310 john deere backhoe and transplanting it to the back of my 250 Belarus to power a front mounted snowblower.My Belarus lacks two-stage clutch but has 2 very slow forward gears.thanks a lot...I'm a first timer.

The pump runs at engine speed (1500+) rpm while the PTO will turn either 540 or 1000 rpm. The pump will have a low output volume at the reduced speed.

I have thought of doing this myself for beefing up the hydraulics on my 250AS
The engines main pully has a slot for a chrank type starter. It might be possible to fabricate a bracket to hold the pump and have a shaft made that uses this slot, to drive the pump. Maybe worth a look at it.
You will have to move some stuff out of the way, but I think there is space.

Thanks guys for replying to Belarus front mount pump.I figured rear pto would have to be stepped up;very doable.I also did look at front crank briefly...bring in the machinist i guess!I will have to get more measurements on the pump.and available space.Thanks again.Caper

After thinking on this some more... another issue. Direction of rotation.
You'll be turning the pump around the engine crankshaft. Will your PTO turn it in the proper direction?
