Cab or Not?

I'm not sure that I would want my woods to be that open. I try to keep a more vigorous forest, taking the mature trees and making space for the next crop.

I am 58 and with age comes the want and desire for comfort. Get the cab and don't look back.

Oldoak,
Watched a Messick's video last week detailing the GST transmission. There are some tractor functions where a hydro will produce more heat than work results. I can see a justification for both types. On a cold winter night during a prolonged accumulation snow storm, I am very grateful for my tractor cab.

So there I was Saturday mowing, the north wind was blowing a steady 20 with gusts to 25, it was completely overcast and maybe 40-45F. I was very grateful for the cab, otherwise mowing would have been put off. We have lots of oak trees on the acreage and they shed their lower limbs - I'll knock them down with the bucket or grapple if it's attached. I'm able to maneuver the 4720 into some fairly tight spots and don't mind a little contact with the ends of smaller limbs. The Deere cab is pretty tough but I never want to test its limitations.

I suppose with larger cabbed tractors clearance could be a real hassle in trees but the 4720 is a great size for my needs - ~65 HP at the PTO and heavy enough to do some serious work.

Get a cab - heat + AC. It will increase the joy of working with the tractor!
