Whats the hinge going to be for???

Chris

Chris I'm going to make a holder/mount for the Fasse 12Volt Diverter valve that mounts to the 3.5" round crossbar on the FEL you see in a recent pic where I have my calipers on it in a pic. Something similar to this;

nbhlm_142240.jpg

I ordered 2- 1" wide pieces of 4"OD (3.5" ID) DOM tubing to do it. I will cut them in 1/2 and add a hinge on one side and a bolt/clamp fastener on the other and bolt it to the cross bar, THEN mount my valve mounting plate that that...It may be a lil hard to understand my description but when you see it, you will get it immediately.

I do not want to weld to the FEL so as not to void warranty and make the valve easily removable and be able to posistion it w/ adjustability.

Artisan,
Do you mind me asking how much the valve cost you?
hugs, Brandi

The MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) was $225.00, check with your local supply house and see what they are doing. I should have it Monday afternoon for pics. UPS, as usual, takes forever. Gawd that company (UPS) used to be good, now I wait forever for parcels and hope the package was not used for a football or tire chalk. ( I kid you not, I get stuff SMASHED big time) I try to dissuade all retailers I do business w/ from using UPS, they totally blow anymore.

Artisan, watching this thread with interest. Particularly interested in how that replacement loader stick works out for you. I assume you're going to replace the OEM one with the Fasse stick? Nice work so far.

And as far as welding goes, I took the first step and finally bought one but haven't welded anything yet. Hopefully that changes soon. Bird turd welds, here I come!

Chris were not replacing the OE "stick" . Were adding a valve that will split the FEL curl circuit. one set of hoses for the bucket curl, and one set for the grapple. It will all come very clear soon.

PS, turn the heat UP w/ the welder and you will get proper penetration and not make burdturds! :)

Turn it up a little more and you got yourself an automatic hole maker =) I miss playing with T-8 mig, with wire about the same size as an 1/8th electrode you could punch through inch thick plate if you got too far ahead of the weld puddle, not to mention having a golf ball sized puddle of molten metal plopping down onto your boots

I can't wait to see how it turns out Artisan--with the valve routing and all. I have to admit I am rather curious. Your post the other day had me googling and reading up on regenerative systems for hours.

That thumb looks great!

Dan I can't imagine it not working...nor causing any problems, besides, member sqidget did it w/ a like valve, w/o issue, on a bx25 so...

I got a couple of tiny parts in today...silly metal supply didn't ship till today so I wait till prob next week mid for the clamp stock.

OK, I got it in hand! The Fasse Diverter / Valve Multiplier / Circuit Splitter I have been wait for is in da' House! :D

Very cool...look at this valve, NICE! I guess up till now standard issue was ports
on 3 sides and a lot of 90 degree fittings and bending hoses to make it work,
look at this bad boy, all outputs on one face, and the output face is 180
degree from the input, VERY cool...

I am not ready to open the bag yet but here is the equally as cool ergonomic valve and an extension. This stuff is quality, look at the waterproof electrical connectors! Nice! I palmed it, the handle, thru the bag, it is going to be saaaa-wheat!

I just realized there are a couple of folks who do not understand the concept, so I will explain.

There is a wire that connects to the FASSE valve. That wire goes to the
thumb buttom on the new hand grip. I will remove the OE hand grip on the
FEL stick and replace it with this new FASSE grip that has a built in thumb
switch. The switch connects to the battery, then it goes to the valve. When
I press the button it energizes a solenoid that automatically makes the valve
switch between 2 of the 4 outlet ports , so 2 ports go to the curl cylinder
and 2 ports go to the grapple or whatever implement you choose, with the thumb switch.

(There are several types of switches, look at the webazine . )

PS, that grip can be used to power anything, want to add a horn, or a widget...you got the idea, and, no questions are dumb you lurkers!
If you want to know, ask away, I'll awnser or if I do not know I bet another will.

This mounting plate is a 5.75" long x 3.25"OD wide x 1.5"OD x .10" thick piece of channel.
The bolts will end up 5/16" x 3.25" with nyloc nuts.

A little more progress here;

Nice, can't wait to see the finished product.

So if I am understanding this correctly:

You are splicing in this fasse valve before the supply to your loader control valve. When you hit the button on the new grip, it diverts flow from the bucket curl/dump function to the new grapple open/close.

So that means you can not curl/dump at the same time as grappling, correct?

I believe he is routing the curl fluid out of the curl work ports into the IN of the solenoid valve, which will then switch the fluid to the curl cyl or the grapple cyl.

That valve is a diverter/selector valve using the curl circuit for the hyd.

He can not use both circuits at the same time as the fluid is switched for the time the button is held.

The no voltage is the normal curl circuit.

That is my understanding anyway.

J_J is on the money as always...

The existing 2 hydraulic hoses that power the curl cylinder go to the 2 inputs
on the Fasse Valve, the no power ports will feed the curl and the power ports,
or when I push the button, will feed the grapple cylinder. So I can
boom up and down at will and curl OR grapple.

I can't see it not working...were gonna find out anyways...

I just hit a road block. Understand I am learning hydralic EVERYTHING here.
I looked at my BX25 hoses feeding the curl cylinder and they said 1/4", OK,
I assumed they were 1/4" NPT (into the cylinder) x 1/4"JIC(where the hose connects)90 degree fittings, NOT, they measure out to 1/4" NPT x 3/8" JIC,
UNLESS I AM WRONG. I assume Kubotas thinking is to keep the ID a full 1/4"
or better thru the fittings.

So I await fittings. I hope I am right! Jery? I am right yes:eek:? Those are 3/8"
JIC x 1/4"npt 90* hose fittings on the curl cylinder yes?
You have a BX25 there do you not?

Negative and Affirative deezler...

The fasse valve goes AFTER the loader valve, read above.

Affirmative I can only use Curl, OR Grapple, not both at once.

So the FEL Stick still controls the boom and the curl OR the grapple, one OR the other.

I spent some time thinking about it and I think were going to be OK,
I think it will end up being very intuitive in nature.
