I have a 16' tandem axle trailer with ramps; and bought both DOT chains and binders. I would like to secure my BX24 without damaging the paint. I thought I could put a clevis through the drawbar pin hole and chain the rear there but haven't found a good place to chain the front of the tractor. I'd appreciate others' thoughts on good securement locations (I would haul the BX24 with both the FEL and BH attached).

What do you tow with?

While mine is a BX2660 w/FEL, and I do not have a BH. I am trying to go easy on the paint when I tie down also. I use the same straps that I use to tie down my 5000# truck that we race down to the trailer. The straps have axel straps that go wrap over the axel and allow for the wratchet strap to attach into both rings in the ends of the axel strap. The axel straps are easy on the tractor frame. attachment points. I use a 4 point tie down on the tractor. Two on the front of the frame and two on the lower part of the back of the frame. I than run a strap over the FEL and/or any rear attachment that is installed prior to transport.

While not directly answering your question, this may save you some browsing time ... take a look at the Transporting page on the BX Wiki, where there are links to some relevant TBN threads. One includes photos of some attachment points one owner fixed to the front grill.

Here is what I did. Added some tie down points. These have worked out nicely. Still have not done anything for when I do not have the backhoe attached.

SPK24's idea (and nice pictures) are exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

That is definitely adequate :)

I just toss one strap across the grill guard (front) and one across the footplate (rear). Works fine, no scratches.
