BX24 oil filter

I have a question. I have a 70000-74034 oil filter. The one I took off on first service is black...this one I have is white. It is larger in diameter but the gasket appears to be the same diameter as the smaller one. I think the dealer sold me one for a BX23. Will this filter work?

I forgot to add the engine in my BX24 says BX23 on the valve cover.

It's the correct filter, just the "economy" filter. The OEM filter would be the exact same size, for about twice as much.

It appears there are 3-4 different filters that fit the BX24. Some are in Blue boxes and some orange boxes. And you have fleetguard and Fram cross references also.

Is the engine in the BX24 supposed to say BX23 on the valve cover?

Mine does. I think it is the same engine but they get the one extra horsepower out of it by increasing the redline a little.
