I usually take alittle longer than that on my BX23 because I mount/dismount my BH onto/from a dollie

New BX24 owner here! Just wanted to say that this was a great thread. I removed the BH and FEL last night and with limited space in my garage, I was wondering what you use for a dollie and where you got it? Any recommendations? It would seem to make storing the BH and FEL for maximum space savings easier.

Thanks!

Leave the backhoe set in the sun for a week and then show us how quick you can reinstall it!!

I have had this problem with my B3030 and it did not take a week in the sun, only a couple of hours! The fluid expands and makes the connections almost impossible to reconnect. I found that if I loop them back on themselves at the backhoe when I disconnect the loop, I relieve the pressure. No problems since!

The quick and dirty fix if you have pressure is to just hit the tip of the coupler against somthing. I did cheat on attaching it though, it was already up in the air and we all know it will never stay there for more than a few hours.

Thats pretty quick...I can't get mine off that fast...the left pin always sticks and needs a little tap to get it out....going in the same way.
The same thing has started to happen to me. I wonder why.

Great Vid...
I tried to remove the BX becasue of this video.

I have the same problem, but i cant tap out my left pin. I hvae to put down the left outrigger and apply just the right amount of pressure than i can use a hammer to tap out the pin. Same as going back in.

Any reason for this? any thing i could do to make it easier? Or i just got a tractor thats a PITA?

I can't figure out why mine is like that...the dealer showed me how to do it in his shop and is slide right out....I am thinking is a level ground issue. I Take my BH off on a paved driveway but its not perfectly level....

Beyond that I have no idea unless somehow something got tweked just a hair.

Dirt can work it's way between the pins, and mounts on the backhoe. I found that using a wire brush on both would make the removal, and install process go a lot smoother. It doesn't take much in there to change the clearances enough to cause binding, and it often isn't even noticable.

Mine has done it since the first time I tried to take it off...its clean as a whistle...I sprayed a little WD40 on it..that helped a little...

I had one pin that started sticking. I made the mistake of greasing the pin very lightly. Apparently the grease attracted enough dirt to make it really hard to get out for several weeks. I finally got rid of all the grease. It still sticks but if I get everything right I can pull it out OK.

:D lol., had to give it the old lol... grease always finds dirt...but you all know the connection set up of the BX24 is even "me proofed"... I love it., now it I would just learn to set it on the blocks! and not have to mess around to hook up all the hoses! Stupid I know... solid foundation! I know...god I know:mad:

I know the pins and their holes were clean. But you have a good point. Dirt on the bottom supports may be messing up the alignment. I didn't think to check that. Until now. Thanks.

Messicks: Do a quick attach front bucket, forks, etc. I had a B7800 with the old pins and now have a L3240 with quick attach/detach. Show people what they are missing or what they want for sure on their next tractor or even to change from old pins now to quick attach/detach.
