Well after seeing all of the trouble that this little fan causes when broken I had a few made from NYLON thicker than stock and with a outer support ring to make the blades much stronger. What do you guys think?

Someone here milled theirs out of stainless. He said it chipped stuff that got into it. :)

Should have been made in 2 pieces so they can be installed with out tearing the whole tractor down .

Thank you for your suggestion can you tell me if all of the BX series of tractors share a commmon size HST driveshaft? If I were interested in selling a few of the ones in the picture what do you guys think is a fare price? Keep in mind I am not making thousands.

I like it!:thumbsup: I really like the outer ring. I never thought of having a ring on it, but I wonder if it cuts down on the air flow or does it does a turbo effect blowing? That new fan, if it doesn't lower the cooling efficiency, then I am all for replacing my fan with that. It would be safer too if a hand got too close.

Many pros here then con.

Have you installed it on BX and tested?
How did you mill them?

As LBrown pointed out, it would be nice to be able to do fan replacements without a teardown of the BX. I could understand the complexcity of having a fully attached ring without splitting in 2. This leads to my next question- Have you thought about selling both kinds? one with ring in onee piece for those who want to do the proper full teardown and the other where you have it in 2 peices for fast repair for those who are less tool challenged (who us on TBN?!:D I doubt it but time is money)

I think you should contact Kubota and become a supplier!

BTW, how much are you thinking of selling them for? TBN'ers gets discounts right? :D

I have had one mounted to my BX 23 all summer and in issues at all.
Can anyone tell me the diameter of the driveshaft for the BX 24 and BX 25 I am wondering if I can have a one size fits all 2 pc fan. Thanks to all who have replied so far I am encouraged to see that this has not been a waste of time and money.

The stock fan is under $10 but requires $900 in labor to replace. If you made a split one that required just an hour or so of labor that would make the fan a lot more valuable than $10. If it was me and I was facing $910 for a fan replacement I would pay $40 or $50 for a better fan. What does everybody else think? Am I high or too low?

You might want to to some preplacement of these fans in the field to verfiy longevity, reliablity etc. Of course I'd be willing to take on such a endevor. :D

And in the spirt of the guys on "Shark Tank" I'd only want it free and a 51% equity stake in your company! Well at least it was your company before the deal.

Thank you for being so eager to help. This is why I started with the stock mounting setup I am 100% confident that my fan is MUCH more durable and moves as much if not more air than the stock one. I am going to see if I can sell the four I have now. And begin working on one that is split and can mount on most if not all of the bx tractors. Thank you for the interest so far and the words of encouragement.

What do I think? I think your a fricking genus. How much is it worth? I don't know, that one is tough. Maybe $25 if you want to sell a lot of them, $50 if you want to make twice as much per unit.

Are you familiar with the TV show I referenced above? Its a great show that has multimilllionaires evaluating folks looking for $ to expand their business. Really great show. The questions they (the panel of millionaires) ask really helps one to understand business and what it takes to "take something to the next level." Once you get a few out there to test the receptivity waters, you might consider hooking up with someone like Bro-Tek for distribution purposes. GET IT PATENTED before you approach ANYONE, especially if they are already manufacturing.

If you included an easy to understand instructions and a quicker way to get your product installed... I'm sure you'd easily be able to charge $50-75 for such a package. BTW I finally received my Kubota manual (after a two week wait), what a POS. I used to be a tech writer in the AF and this is complete crap. Again make the instructions, you've got NO competion from Kubota.

I agree, you have to have a way to sell them, such as BX-expanded or Bor-tek. I'm not sure how large of a market there is either. It might be tough to sell anything more than a few units a month. That might be O.K. if they are easy to make just a few at a time.

The WSM is just "bedtime reading" for the curious IMO .
Replacing the broken original will still require all the"pull out"
effort , before the enhanced replacement can be afixed though.......
A cooler matrix for the pipework ( attached at the back in free-air )
would be good . This has already been done ofcourse , but there's
no kit available as such .NO FAN assist is required to function !!!!

It is my intention that with my latest design that you will not need to remove the old fan only remove the remaining fins. The new unit will have four fasteners and will sit just forward of the original. I am fine with 1 or 50 units per month and will include written instructions as well as the required fasteners. I hope that I can get the next generation fan prototype done this week. Thanks again for all of the comments.
