It's on top of the tank above the left rear whee (opposite side of the fuel filler)l. Unfortunately you'll have to remove the ROPS, some assorted minor parts and the rear fender/floor pan to get to it. It's not major surgery but give yourself the good part of a full day to do it.
A search will turn up several threads of those that have done it.

The BX2200 has a two stage sender. It may be the same with the BX23. If the replacement is done wrong the second stage won't send and the fuel level will read about 3/8th of a tank until it actually reaches 3/8th of a tank and then it will read correctly from there on down. Sometimes if a bump is hit really hard the second stage will engage and the fuel level will read correctly for a while.
The key seems to be to rotate the sending unit just right until the second stage engages - permanently rather than intermittently.
Getting to the sender is a pain. Good luck.
