Oil & Fuel bx2230 fuel guage

Just checking to see if anyone has had this problem. My fuel guage seems to read full, and I know I have about 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank. I suspect a problem with the sender. Any ideas would be helpful. I still have a year and a half left on the warranty, but I would like to fix it myself. Thanks

My guage is not very accurate either. I think it reads high all the time too. I think its a design issue personally.

Mine is not very linear. "F" is from full to 2/3 full and from "F" to "E" is really from about 2/3 to 1/6. At "E" I have about 1/2 gallon left. All this applies only when the tractor is level. Any tilt, especially side to side and the gauge reading is pure fantasy.

The float arm where attached to the sending unit pivots via ball bearings , if You have ever repaired the fuel leak on a BX , You can readily see why the float moves around so much.

Granted it will last forever with ball bearings but it does not make for a very stable fuel gauge. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
