I have a bx2200 and when i place it in low or high drive it wants to stall out as i drive along. What could be the cause?

they may need to be changed. the issue does not occur at idle though. could it still be the filters?

Can you hear clicking when you turn the key before you start it? If not the fuel pump may not be working, check the wires I had this happen to me. If you change the filters make sure you change both filters, one next to the fuel pump and the other next to the engine.

Hello Bobby: replace your neutral safety switch about $11.00 from your dealer. Remove the right rear wheel to get to it. Two small screws with nuts on the back - smaller hands type work. Adjust the switch plunger (trial and error) it is two way acting (forward and backward that is why you'll see the 4 spade connector. 100% that is your problem. best of luck. fuel filters changed out and that is when I noticed the issue with the seat and possibly what RobinC is saying makes sense. when I apply pressure and giggle the seat is when it will start to stall. can I bypass the kill switch or the whole assembly there is moves slightly.

Yes you can bypass the switch. Just remember if an accident occurs you could have liability issues. On my BX2200 the switch was the PTO switch. The top of the switch had worn down from vibration and you had to pull back on the lever to get the switch to release. I adjusted the switch stop to compensate for the wear.

Check your switch to see if adjustment will correct the situation rather than bypass it. Replacing the switch would be my next choice.

My BX2200 does not have a seat switch. Never had one.

I have tried adjusting the mechanism as all of it is getting worn down. Not worried about the liability issues as I have had the seatbelt buckled for years to not have to do deal with the switch. How do I override it?

I have heard if you unplug the switch and install a jumper wire it will act as the switch is engaged.
Never tried it.

The clues Bobby gave were when he shifts the hydro transmission lever from neutral into either low/turtle or high/rabbit drive, the engine starts acting like or actually shuddering/stalling as attempting to move (assume forward) with the foot treadle, but engine operates without shuddering/stalling in "idle" as stated in another post.

If by meaning "idle" is actually in neutral position (my interpretation) and runs without stalling symptoms, then the neutral position safety switch is the problem. That switch can be jumper-ed out (bypassed) with two each - 2" 12 or 14 gauge electrical wires. I do not know if the 4 spade female connector are top/bottom or right/left in their connectivity to complete or bypass/defeat their respective high or low circuits.

The PTO safety switch is on the left side of the 2200 with a single acting plunger/switch in the linkage mechanism below the fender. Easy to see and work on/replace with the left rear wheel off. The symptoms of that switch going bad is that when trying to engage the mower or other PTO function lever (left thigh location) forward, the tractor will exhibit the same engine stalling issues as with seat safety or the neutral safety going bad.

If seat safety(s) is (are) in place, then it/they can be jumper-ed out with same type of electrical wire, as they are simple 2 spade female connectors.

Thanks for allowing me to polish up my response. Hope this is somehow useful...........RobinC
