Jeff, if you get the Gator Blades, I'll be interested in knowing how you like them. I fell prey to a sales pitch a couple of years ago and bought them for the Cub Cadet AGS2130 I had at the time. What a waste of money. I guess they weren't too bad, but they sure were not as good as the much cheaper original blades, and I finally threw them away. A neighbor did the same thing with the ones he bought for his MTD riding mower.

I haven't bagged or even raked leaves for 15 years. It was around 1985 that I discovered (along with Al Gore) a mysterious secret of nature. If you do nothing, the leaves will be gone come March. I don't know where they go. Evaporation maybe.

For the twenty five years my old B6000 with a Woods belly mower would mulch the leaves. Put a plate over the discharge with high lift blades. After 2 or 3 passes the leaves were gone, but the fine mulch left behind got thicker and thicker as the trees got bigger and bigger. My grass took longer and longer in the spring to recover. Now I have so many leaves I have to get rid of them. I tried leaving them on the lawn one year but a matt of 1-2" of wet leaves killed the grass in large areas. The heavy snow packs them flatly on the ground and by spring the grass in nearly gone.

The bagger is the answer, but the mower needs some mulching attachment to allow more resident time in the mower to grind the leaves into smaller pieces. I had an old push type leave mulcher from Sears the would grind up the leaves into pieces no larger than 1/2 square. When you emptied the bad it weighed 30lbs or more. If the Kubota performed like that, I would be a happy leaf collector.
