I'm into my third year of ownership with my BX1860, and I've never wished for more power...except I really wanted a wood chipper. I have a large stand of pine trees on my property and boy do they make a mess in the springtime. I have a brushpile that's approaching Mt Vesuvius in size. I've shopped for a chipper for over a year and almost bought a Wallenstein BX32 but couldn't quite cough up over $3k to buy the thing new. At any rate, my local dealer had a used Salsco 600 pto chipper, 3 1/2" w 40 lb flywheel. 600PTO CHIPPER | Salsco Inc. - I paid $1800 for it and brought it home this morning. Well, I just spent a couple of hours chipping away and it is the perfect size for the BX1860. Additionally, it's much better performing than the 16hp DR chipper I had a few years back. Not to mention the fact that I don't even have to have the FEL on to counterbalance it. As I said, perfectly matched. While it's manual feed, the vertical feed hopper works much better than the more horizontal one on the DR. The only thing I wish I had is an aim-able chute. Aside from that, it is slick.
