I have decided that I want to purchace a BX 2360.I am planning to head to a couple dealers in the next week.
How much below list price is a good deal? I am thinking about 10 to 15% is that reasonable?
I realize the dealer has to make a profit also,I just want to make sure I am getting a fair deal.

Thanks
Steve

That is why you look outside that state..

Call or email Barlows for a price and then compare to prices in your state.

For those who prefer to buy local, for local support of and from a local guy, I would think 15% is pushing the window too far, in my limited experience. I priced 4 dealerships, a 160 mile spread, and the prices were very, very comparable.

So, I went with my most local guy. Great people. Good service. That was important to me and may be to you as well. BTW, 10% is a bit more realistic and would considered a very good deal. Look for paperwork fees and other hidden fees too. Those add up. Price the implements separately and as a bundle. This helps understand what's what. I found that very helpful.

Shopping is fun, but owning/operating is better!

I agree with John I have 2 tractors both came from Barlows in KY they will ship anywhere.

I prefer to go local too and it has paid of in service and reduced prices on implements. My dealership sold all available 2660's in six days. I got the last crated one; last was the showroom model, so there wasn't much incentive to bargain too much.

Me to. Local for me is Barlows.:D The good or the bad is I drive right by their front gate 3 to 5 days a week. They have a subliminal message that has this subtle beckoning sound that they transmit at a frequency that maybe only I hear (maybe not because they sell alot of Kubotas). I've started rolling my cd player up to maximum level when I drive by now but I think they have hacked into my cars computer because I now have to fight the steering wheel as I drive by.:) I'm not trying to encourage people to not buy local, my encouragement is to find out how much you can buy it for from a dealer known for good service and price then check locally and see how much your local dealer appreciates your business with a fair price. Sorry guys but the days of "that's the price, take it or leave it" are over. Money comes hard for most people and they/we control their/our spending so we shop around now to see who wants to work for a reasonable profit. Those who want an unreasonable profit perish and at their own hands.

I think my dealer does the same subliminal message thing. I sent my wife up to get parts a couple of times and it apparently works on women too as now she wants an F3060..

I got a reasonable deal on mine and couldn't have done any better within my area and for a few bucks I wasn't going out of state.

What some people don't realize is that dealers will pay a different amount from one shipment to the next or if he has to get one from another dealer. I got their last loader and the price went up on the next ones, so a package cost can vary.

I got mine cheaper than the people who bought from the next shipment.

Don't blame you on that one; couple hundred bucks maybe, but not that much; don't like anyone that well.

I agree. I'd buy locally for $200 or maybe $300 more but that's about all. I had home owners with a State Farm agent several years ago. I used to check prices every year before renewal (don't anymore since switching to Farm Bureau, don't tell them). One year the price was over $100 cheaper at another company. I called my SF agent and told him I was switching. He got a bit hostile and asked if I was moving cars also. Told him that would be fine if he wanted me to which seemed to settle him down a bit. I told him I liked him but not $100 worth. He asked me to check with him next year when I renewed. Why I don't check rates since going to Farm Bureau is that I did for a few years and no other company ever got close to them. No, don't you agents contact me with a better deal and don't suggest other companies I need to check with. I'll just stay contented in my ignorance.:)
I have an F2680 that I mow a mobile home park with and love it. People are always asking if I need help mowing and I just tell them the company won't let me let other people use the mower because of liability issues.:)

I purchased locally after contacting Barlows for comparison. I got 18% off of the list price shown on Kubotas website at the time. We then added tax and the Kubota insurance and I was still $1,200 below the list price. The only thing that I am not sure of is the exact date of manufacture of my BX (it did not have the latest fan protection so was not the most recent vintage), but I did expect and receive a new tractor delivered to the dealer in the crate.

Subliminal message...I guess! I think that below your tractor listing at the bottom of each of your posts you should add: "I have a tractor disease. There is no cure. I'm not even dealing with the symptoms very well!":D

For my part, when buying my 2660 recently I wanted a good deal but I really wanted good local support too. I shopped around some and negotiated what I felt was a fair price with the local Kubota dealer. I probably could have saved a bit more, but the dealer has been a wealth of knowledge and support all ready. By Golly I even got a hat:).

I'm worse on cars. Over 130 so far. I rec'd a hat when I bought my first Kubota tractor (BX2200) which started a tradition. 2nd purchase I asked for and rec'd 2 hats. This finally got up to 7 hats and I'm really not even a hat man. Wear one when mowing for sun out of eyes benefit and to give to Grands who I started teaching at age 3 to say "Kubotas pull John Deeres". I finally started asking for a couple of hats on 8th and 9th purchase. I bought a WRX and told the dealer I needed a WRX hat so he got me one. Maybe I'm trading for the hats!!!

Ask for them, if they aren't offered.

My dealer, sheepishly, UPS shipped two straight to the house to make good on hats. I got a third in a promotional box deal of filters/oil. It's a cheapie, but its Orange and floppy and I actually like it the best. :D:D
