Snow BX Plow mount question.

Just installed a Kubota 60" hydraulic set-up on my BX. I'm definitely a plow rookie so I apologize for my ignorance. Picture 1, what is the purpose of these hooks, there is one on the left and right backside of the blade? The manual left much to be desired.

Also, is this the proper setup of the stoppers on the quickhitch?

From another thread on here about that plow I learned that the black bracket thing in your top pic is in the correct position for snow plowing or any other time when you want the normal spring-trip-forward action of the blade (like if you hit something solid when snow plowing.) I understand you pull the pin and drop the bracket to the lower position if you want to lock the blade in position and not allow it to trip forward. I think you'd do that if you were doing light dozer type work and moving much slower to avoid breaking or tweaking something if it can't trip forward...

From what I can see from a picture in this thread (second post in thread) it looks like your lower picture is correct (assuming bp fick's is correct

With respect to your lower picture. I just adjust the taper location via the T handle so that the holes align for sliding the pins into the mounting holes of the tractor. It's very consistent and I haven't have to adjust it over the years. It is an easy adapter to mount.
