The operator manual states that the MMM should be removed when using the BH. I can not for the life of me see why this is called for. I can understand the FEL since you will invariably run over rocks and sticks and such that may damage the MMM. But the BH seems to be so independent of the MMM area and the machine is still while it is use. Is there any logical reason to remove the MMM while using the BH or is this just an over abundance of caution?

I am only speaking from my BX23 experience, but I have to believe they are the same, when you lower the MMM the 3 point arm things rest on the operator platform of the BH. I think that you can have the MMM on and run the BH but I don't think you'll get the MMM all the way down to its lowest setting because of the interference I mention above. But the dealer delivers them all together and even ran my MMM with the BH on.

Now on my B3030 the 3 PT arms actually lift the MMM so there ain't know way you're running both.

The BX24 platform has been modified to allow the 3 Pt free movement.
There should now be no problem with the BX24, it must be a copy/paste error in the manual.

From my understanding, the reason for removing the MMM with the BH attached is that the BH spool valve could be damaged from the pressure put on it when the 3 pt reaches top hight when lifting the MMM and the relief kicks in.

I don't know why that would be the case, but that's what the manual indicates.

If I could get my MMM to "Top Lock" I wouldn't have to worry about operating the 3 pt lift while the BH is attached.

I always remove the BH and FEL to Mow, but would love to be able to leave the MMM on while using the BH or FEL.

100*I never lock it and operating the 3 pt lift isn't a problem.
200*Well just do it then :-->I have never had the FEL BH or MMM off my BX 23 in 4 years and1070 hours.
Works fine just like it was designed to do.

You can have all 3 attachments on a BX23 and use all of them without removing either of the other 2 because it was designed to do that.

You can't do that with your B3030 because it wasn't designed for it.

Thanks for the input. I thought I remembered a previous post of others using their MMM without removing the BH. Still, I wonder why it would be in the operator manual for the tractor and the manual for the MMM. I can see no place where there is any potential for intereference between the MMM and BH connections. Unless there is some unseen stress within the hydrolic system, it seems like an over abundance of caution.
Glad to hear someone else has had success using a BX with the full configuration of attachements.

I think the Operator's Manual cautions about using the MMM with the BH mounted. I believe the problem is that the return-to-tank side of the backhoe control valve can be overpressured when the MMM is raised and the pressure relief kicks in. (Usually the tank side of a valve is only rated to 500 psi or so.) Lock the deck in the TOP position before hooking up the hoe and all should be well. If you want to mow with the BH on, unhook the hoses and re-attach the bypass hose like the BH was off. Don't forget to put the lock pins in the BH boom. BTW, I understand the BX 23 is different in this respect than the BX 24. I also know that it won't always damage the valve as I have mowed with the BH connected. The BH hoses sure jump when the PR valve releases though.

my dealer., and his mech's said not to worry about it. ?? So I don't; I like the idea to move the hose connections. :D
