BX 2230 Engine Coolant Hose Question

Hello Everyone,
I received my new bx last week and am looking forward to put some hours on the clock with it, but before I do I have a newbie question. Before I got into the tractor seat I popped the hood to get familiar with the engine and noticed that the top hose which attaches to the cap of the coolant reservoir was not attached to anything on the other end. Does anyone know where this tube is supposed to attach to and how?

Forgive me if this seems like a silly question, but my mechanical abilities tend to fall into the "non-existant" category /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I believe your asking about the overflow tube. It doesn't attach to anything at the other end. it just hangs straight down. It's purpose is to route overflow coolant to the ground should the need arrise. Such as when the system is overfilled or in the case the engine overheats. It keeps the coolant/vapors from spraying all over the engine or back at you.

The reservoir has one hose connected to the radiator and the other serves as an overflow- should not be connected to anything.

Thank you both for your responses. I didn't want to run the tractor until I knew everything was in its proper place. Now I can happily run down my list of excuses to play with the new toy.
