BX 2200 Loader

Having been lurking on the Forum for two years now its time to ask the first question. I have a BX2200 with 127 hours on it (purchased in March of 2001) and I've decided I can use a front loader for a variety of landscaping chores. I've been quoted an installed price of $2500 (+ tax) by the dealer where I made the original purchase. The price includes pick-up and delivery. Does this seem like a competitive price?

That sounds reasonable to me. I paid $2450 (including grill guard) in December to have one added to my new tractor.

I guess I also should have asked if I needed to consider a tooth bar and possibly a few hooks welded to the bucket. The primary use will be to move mulch, build island-type flower beds, move gravel and snow while maintaining a 300 foot gravel driveway, and in removing several medium-sized shrubs from around the house. I've got a carryall or rear blade I can use for a rear counterweight.

The tooth bar is very helpful if you plan to do any digging. I found it better without the toothbar for moving mulch and working with gravel. It is a lot easier to backdrag with the standard bucket without the toothbar. I spread a large load of crushed limestone for my neighbor two weeks ago. I started with the toothbar attached but found out that it was much better with it off. The makes a big difference when you are digging dirt! I'm glad I have one. The toothbar is very easy and quick to remove or install.

From your description I would not put a high priority on the tooth bar. You won't want it for snow removal or any "pile" moving and you probably won't need it much for digging flower beds. The hooks on the bucket could be handy for shrub removal.
