Rotary Cutter Bush Hog 8' Mower

I picked up a used mower, I think it might be a 268. The center, i.e., the stump jumper, needs replaced on one side. Can I replace just one side--any balance problems? WHere's a good place to get blades and this center piece? How do I find out what model it is? Thanks.

If you have an 8 ft Brand name "Bush Hog" I'll bet it's probably a model 3008. One center splitter gear box to two outboard gearboxes is a 3008. I have attached a link with all the Bush Hog manuals. Take a look and see if you can find yours. Also look at their parts page, you enter your zip code and it will show the nearest dealers.

BTW..........that's an excellent cutter.

It only has two gearboxes. It looks like a 278 but the tail wheel assembly is different as each side is individually adjustable (and no cylinder hookup).
