Building Quick Attach Plates

So I called PT and found out a quick attach plate for my PT is $200 apiece and then shipping.

So I went to my machine shop and for well under $150 I have all the steel cut, bent and ready to weld, and that is for 6 of them.

Will start the welding tomorrow.

I agree. A small, name-brand 120v wire feed/MIG welder can be had for a few hundred bucks.
You can start with flux core wire or convert to MIG later if you want.
Take a class at a local community college, or get someone with welding skill to teach you basic procedures.
It isn't hard at all.
Now, I won't get into the 120v vs 240v wars here. This isn't the forum for that. There's plenty of flames (get it, flames) in the welding forum. haahaha

But if you think about it, if you spent $400 bucks on a welder, helmet, gloves, welding wire and some practice metal, then weld up just one or two useful items, you've paid for the welder and accessories!

I bought a 200 AMP Stick from Mike at Everlast and it is killer. The price was much better than a used Lincoln tombstone (which I love and have) and the arc and weld are so much better.

I think if you are to have one welder, IMO the stick is the better way to go as you probably will do more thick than thin metal if you live on a farm.
