Building a pond questions

Soil Conservation evaluated the pond site for sutability, marked the expected water line and designed my dam. They also sized the overflow pipe and the spillway. All for free. It utilized 3700 cu yds just in the dam. Three of the four contractors asked for a copy of the design doc to do their bid. One said "I don't need to know that info." No he was not a season contractor. Guess who I did not use. Took most of a month to build and about 4 months to fill. The estimate is 5 million gallons in about 2.75 acres.

I'm not sure what say the state would have in a USDA funded EQUIP program. I wasn't approached about public use, but had he, you can bet I'd have told him where to stick his riser. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
