Just had the chimney sweep out too my place and was going to peruse the old threads, but this seems like a good place to ask.
Someone has "lined" my old chimney with regular stovepipe. Chimney sweep said it was dangerous and not the right way to do it, although more common then it should be. Think he called it the "poor mans relining". Unfortunately, I think I agree with him, it would be just like every other part of the house..
Anyway, he suggested Stainless Steel liner, with poured in insualtion around it. His quote was $1500
Looking on the net I think I can do the same for about $700 or so, which would be about half so that makes sense too me.
Anyone done this? Spiral flexible continuous better then the solid? Tips, suggestions, tricks?
