I would like to build a leaf vacuum that i can put in a 3x4FT trail in the back of a riding mower. I built a box for the trailer. What is a good strong blower and do i have to reverse the motor or are they sold ready to install

I built one using an old craftsman chipper shreader....works pretty well. I did not have to do any modifications to the fan or anything - just attached a hose to the leaf input and connected it to the chute on the mower.

I too as Dillo made one, but havent tried it yet . I hope it does the trick. I had the chipper shredder so that wasnt a problem. But I had to purchase 6 feet of 7 inch hose,. it was 13.50 a foot. plus shipping. surely the most expensive part of the rig. The company I bought the hose from sent 8 feet. so that was nice. As I needed the extra. Always good when a company does that instead of shorting you. LOL
There should be a few more threads her with homemade rigs. Mine wass simple a 4x5 box 4 foot tall. on the top edge I used window screen for the vent. I also mounted the chipper to the tongue, and it blows directly into the box. Inside the box I make a wooden shoot to divert it to the roof of the trailer.
From what ive hear this method doesnt have alot of suction, but with the deck shredding the materials Id think it would vac it ok. The test will be in three or so months.
