Bucket hooks

While Les Schwab is busy fitting new shoes I decided to install some bucket hooks.

Should be safer than the old method of wrapping chains around the bucket. In a moment of vanity I bought the blue hooks. In hindsight I should probably have gotten the black ones.

Nope, you want the blue ones. You did good. I got Red ones since my tractor is red. I need to install some on my MILs tractor, already have them bought.

Black ones cost $39.99........same with John Deere green or Kubota Orange (they know money is no object with those guys! )

Blue, red same hooks $23.99, 1/2 the price.

How many threads on gear vs. hydro? R1's vs. R4's? Kub vs JD? Chains vs. straps?

If nobody asked question or posted new threads, it'd get boring around here pretty quickly.

Those are cool! And home made. Real fabrication deserves a thread, not a $23.99 hook set and drilling 4 holes.

so much better for lifting heavy objects imo

Nice work there. One thing I like about hooks on the top of the bucket is the ability to pull up on the chain using the bucket curl.

They would have to be welded on as you did or the bolt heads could cause material to stick in the bucket.

No, mine is on the back of the bucket. Used an existing hole:

The back of JD OEM buckets are double walled

Then welding is the only option on the back of that JD bucket. No way would you want to drill & bolt thru both walls.
