They make adjusting the width of the lift arms a lot easier, they originally were trunbuckles and i need a wrench to unlock them and then turn them to adjust the length.

this is a photo of the lift arms with the telescoping links, all you do i pull a pin and adjust the width, then insert the pin in what ever holes line up.

milkman, very nice job. Should the angle iron have a small lip welded behind the 'all thread' to prevent it from slipping out? Or is there enough tension once you tighten everything up? Again, very nice job. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

<font color="#FF641A">Milkman that's a great job. I'm going to try that chain system to see if I can stabilize the clamp on forks I bought. They don't stay centered really well, wanting to move out to the sides when loading them. Great work. Thanks for the pics. John</font>

After I put them on and use them a little I retighten them and they stay tight, they'd have to loosen several turns before they would be loose enough to come off.
One thing I'd like to redo is the piece of angle that hooks over the bucket. I'll come up with some kind of bracket that I can weld on to replace the bolt on.

Nice project. Clever way of lashing them on and securing them.

Just wondering. Did you ever consider using an eye welded to the lower arm, and hooking the chain to the eye? That way, you could curl the bucket to tighten the chains. Sounds dangerous...could break the weld if you curled too much. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
